The Usage of Generators

I was in a actually bad snow storm about three years ago.

My condo was covered in four feet of snow.

It was fantastic for the ski resorts but for my condo & my driveway not so much. My driveway had to get plowed at least three times until I was able to get out of it. With the heavy snow on the power lines I lost power. The power outage lasted for about three days. It wasn’t easily superb for me because I had to monitor when I could flush my toilets. Good thing my driveway was cleared so I could drive to my parents condo to at least take a shower. When I was at their condo my dad proposed that I look into purchasing a generator. He explained to me that generators are placed outside of my condo like a condensing machine of an A/C. I was interested on the functionality of a generator so I contacted my electrical service; Once I got a hold of them I asked what generators can do for my house, and besides providing lights, he said that power outages can bring about cold pipes, the growing of mold when an a/c machine shuts off for awhile, & the potential perishing of food in a refrigerator; And because generators start automatically, I won’t have to go outside in the cold to turn it on if I lose power because of a snow storm. I also won’t have to worry about going to my parents condo for food or to take showers when the power is out.

Generators

I live in the south & sometimes we get pretty bad thunderstorms, then there have been a few instances where are our basement will flood & trees will fall down, and not to mention the lost of power due to trees falling on power lines.

There was one time where my family & I were out of power for five days, and my associate and I had to go to a shelter so we could have sizzling showers & a cooked meal.

My associate and I didn’t mind going there for the time being but we missed being in the comfort of our own home. To avoid losing electricity again my family & I decided to invest in a generator, then generators are fantastic to have when electricity is out, and i decided to call my electrician to find out more on generators, but he proposed a brand to me & gave me some information. He told me that generators will automatically kick on when they sense that utility power has been lost. But when utility power is back up & running, the generator will kick off & be on standby mode for the next power outage. He proposed that I do some measurements before I purchase a generator. This will allow me to know the type of voltage of the generator that I need to get, but with getting a higher voltage you can run your generator to refrigerators, to a heat pump, to your water & a washing & drying machine. It’s almost like your condo is running on utility power & there never was a power outage. I look forward to purchasing a generator.

Clogged Drains

My mother grew up with four siblings.

My Grandparents had a lot on their hands with all girls.

My Grandparents tried multiples times (as you can see) for a boy however they had no luck and stopped at the fourth child. Growing up my mother had to share a lot of things with her siblings. As a twin she had to share more with her twin sibling. Being the youngest my mom was constantly last in line to in taking showers in the day to get ready for school. But most importantly because she has the youngest she would get bossed around a lot to do her older sibling’s chores. Getting ready for school was the hardest for my mom and my aunts. They had to share a tiny bathroom with one mirror, eventually my Grandfather filled a wall in the bathroom with all mirrors so they could get ready simultaneously. However there was an issue. Because they were all girls with long hair, the hair would get caught in the showers drain. My Grandfather would try and unclog it himself but he could not do it. So he decided to call a plumber to do the job. The plumber tackled the hair and was able to get rid of the clump. My Grandfather told me that the plumber would use tools and a plumber liquid to loosen the hair out the drain… Calling the plumber wasn’t the first time my Grandfather called him. There were multiple times while in my mom’s childhood that he would have the plumber on speed dial.

Electrical Panels

I’ve constantly lived in older homes.

The first apartment that I owned was great, it had a pool, a giant front porch and a lot of yard for my pet to run around in.

My second old apartment that I lived in had four stories with a lot of rooms. I did not mind that house however it got to the point where the section I was living in was not actually safe, and so I started looking at other places to live and that has where I found the sixth old house that I’m living in now. I’ve had no luck with this house since I have moved in. I did not realize that my floors were rotting so I had to tear up my carpet to replace the floorboards. Not to mention the oven and refrigerator stopped working. Needless to say it has been a pretty lavish transport so far. On top of everything else I found out that I need to replace my electrical panel. I had an appointment with an electrician to come to my house and inspect all of the electrical outlets. Once he got to my electrical panel he saw that it was legitimately old and ancient. He told me the best chance is to modernize it. By updating the electrical panel I would avoid a potential house fire that is normally caused by dangerous attachions because of old electrical panels. This is the last thing that I wanted to hear. I did not want to spend more money on another old house. But since I will be living here for a long time I guess I could make this house my home.
