Freezing in the evening; no fireplace for santa

Lately my buddy and I have been enduring a lot of concerns with our property thermostat and temperature control methods.

I should be clear, the biggest problem is our seriously drafty cabin and accorporationing ancient boiler; During the summers our little locale stays nice and cool, and my buddy and I have always fresh and high quality indoor air whenever the A/C is running.

My associate and I can happily get through the 8 months of overheated weather that settles into the part because there is official ventilation to keep us glad and healthy. In the winter, however, our property easily fails to meet expectations. There is chilly air coming from all the doors and windows, and our seasoned boiler provides uneven temperatures and wild changes. This year we’ve been relying heavily on our wood burning fireplace to compensate for the exhausting boiler, especially at evening when the air temperature has been dipping into the 20s. So far this method has successfully saved us from having to call out a professional Heating and Air Conditioning contractor to inspect the boiler and charge us thousands of dollars for an updated central heating unit, however there was one unforeseen hiccup in this plan. My associate and I never considered that my step child would be spending Christmas with us. My associate and I didn’t feel about the fact that she is currently heavily invested in the myth of Santa Clause. No one considered that she would be aggravated if a fire was roaring in the fireplace on Christma Eve. None of the adults was quite as uneasy about Santa burning her seasoned butt on the flames on the way down, however long story short, after an outburst of hysterical cries, my buddy and I had quite a chilly Christmas Eve and easily cranked the heat on Christmas afternoon.
