We had lived in our home for almost five years, and we still hadn’t solved a problem we noticed when we first moved in. We had one room that didn’t benefit from the HVAC system. The room wasn’t in use, and we didn’t really think about it unless we had company. Last week, my father said he needed to move out of his house. He couldn’t stand living there ever since my mother left him. He said there were too many memories, and he had to get out. He wanted us to find him a small apartment in a retirement village. Before I would allow him to live there, I wanted to make sure he didn’t want to live in our house. That is when my husband and I decided it was time to find out why the heating and air conditioning in that room were never as comfortable as it should be. I had brought the subject up to my dad, and he said he didn’t want to be a nuisance to us, and it devastated me. I didn’t think I had ever led him to think he could ever be a nuisance. We called the HVAC company and asked if he could check the room. We found out it was the last room on the HVAC system.
