Well we finally have lost our heat pump in our old HVAC system.
I knew it was going to tank one day and at least it did so at the end of the winter season, which means I have time to get it changed. I am going to have the local business, which installed our original HVAC unit, do the work for us soon. I just want to wait another week to save a bit more money, and then I am going to have them do it. I think we had that unit installed about ten years ago and it has been very reliable since. We had it maintained regularly and that made a big difference with the efficiency of the system, meaning it hasn’t lost any since getting it installed. I think that is one of the most important things, having the HVAC system serviced and maintained regularly by a licensed professional. It’s kind of like taking care of the body, just keep it clean and maintained and it will give you years of good service. I like to use a HEPA filter for my climate control system because it just keeps the air that much cleaner all of the time. I have pets and that type of filter helps a lot with my allergies because the filter is made for removing dust and pet dander, and those are the two main things I am allergic to. I want to see if the HVAC company can bring me a washable HEPA filter when they come out to fix our heat pump.
