There was no way I was going back to that house

My boss sent me downtown to help a customer with a furnace issue.

As soon as I arrived, the woman started yelling at me for being late.

I politely told the woman that we don’t have scheduled appointments at a certain time due to the fact that each job may take longer than we expect. She didn’t seem very happy with that answer, but she did not say anything else about me being late. I asked the woman to explain the problem she was having with the furnace. She became hostile and agitated for no reason at all. She started pacing behind me with a pair of scissors in her hand. I was totally uncomfortable and a little freaked out. The woman was rubbing me the wrong way, so I found an excuse to go out to my truck. I contacted my boss and I told him about the odd and peculiar behavior the woman was exhibiting. He asked me if I was scared, and I told him that I was not, but there was no way I was going back into that house when the woman was behaving in a strange and bizarre way. I asked my boss to send a second person to help with the furnace repair or someone else altogether. I wasn’t going to get myself into a situation where things went badly and I had to use force on an old lady to protect myself. Thankfully my boss did send someone to help. The lady acted just as strangely with both of us there, but at least we could watch each other’s back.
