My wife wanted to know what she could get me for Christmas and I told her that I needed a heater for the workshop.
She thought I was joking, but I was absolutely and totally serious.
It gets really cold and the workshop and I spend a lot of time there during the evenings and weekends. I’m constantly working on a project that requires me to spend time in the shed. That is where my workshop is located. The shed has a lot of space for me to work, but it doesn’t have any heat or AC. AC isn’t much of a problem, because the shed is surrounded by trees and the temperatures are never very warm during the summer months. Winter is easily the biggest problem that we have. I didn’t know what to expect on Christmas morning, so I wasn’t surprised that my wife did not purchase a heater for the shop. She bought me a lot of other gifts that were just as nice and equally helpful. The day after Christmas was a Thursday. I was off work until Monday. I was very surprised when the heating company representative showed up and told me that he was there to install a radiant heater. My wife remembered that I wanted a heater. Instead of buying me something small, she contacted a company to have a machine installed. I was really surprised, especially since it was the day after Christmas. I always try to come up with the best present each year, but she really outdid me this time.
