When the guy was done, the evaporator coils looked brand new
The air conditioner was struggling to keep up with the indoor temperature on Saturday. We were having a party and people were constantly in and out of the house all day, but I still thought it was strange that the AC wasn’t working properly. My mom was sitting on the couch in the living room with sweat on her forehead. I could see that she was very hot and uncomfortable. After the party, I mentioned the problem to my husband. He agreed that it might be time to have a tune-up performed on the system. I called and made an appointment a couple of days later. The tune-up technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. He went through the process step-by-step and explained everything to us. He found a lot of dirt on the evaporator coils. Dirty evaporator coils can cause a number of problems. An extremely dirty coil can cause complete malfunction in the AC system. In order to avoid this type of problem, the AC evaporator coils should be cleaned yearly. The technician performed the service and I watched as he used a special machine to remove all of the dirt and debris. It looks like a vacuum cleaner with strange bristles, but it worked very well. When the guy was done, the evaporator coils looked brand new. After the system tune-up and maintenance, I feel that the system is running much more smoothly than it has in a year or two. We are even seeing a decline in the monthly utility bills that we have been paying.
