If there is one thing I have managed to learn from buying a home, it is that you should typically check the condition of the heating and A/C equipment! When I was first looking into buying our new property, I briefly looked and noticed the home did have alright working heating and A/C, however that’s about all I did.
- What I should have done is have a heating and A/C expert come out and look at the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment, to ensure it is easily working and in official condition, not barely working condition.
While the A/C equipment did work in our property, it was in such bad condition it wasn’t even worth saving when it eventually broke down. I honestly had only lived in our property for 6 months when it finally broke down for good. Before then it was barely satisfying our needs for heating and cooling. It was a pretty serious mistake not looking into the furnace and cooling equipment, because now I was the one who had to cover the cost for a brand new gas furnace and A/C system, although I don’t plan on moving soon. I certainly know what to look for, next time I do start looking at properties again. I would suggest that if you plan on buying a property in the near future, you do the same thing, otherwise you might end up in my same situation. At least it all worked out in the end, I did get a better Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system overall, and now our property is nice and cozy.
