For some reason, people are very mean to HVAC technicians, but I can’t figure out why.
I would love to figure out why people are so mean to HVAC technicians, but I can’t figure it out.
At this point, I think that the only thing that I have is a basic guess for why people are angry with HVAC technicians. I think that people don’t like HVAC technicians because HVAC technicians are the designated bearers of bad news. When your HVAC unit stops working, I will bet that your heart stops for a moment just like mine does. None of us like having a broken HVAC unit because a broken HVAC unit means that I must spend money getting my HVAC unit repaired. However, regardless of that fact, people still have to call the HVAC technician because most people have no idea how to fix an HVAC unit. When the HVAC technician comes to your house, he inspects your HVAC unit and then gives you the bad news. You already knew that you were going to have to spend money to get your HVAC unit fixed, but you don’t like hearing it. However, when the HVAC technician tells you, the truth sinks in. It isn’t the HVAC technician’s fault that the HVAC unit doesn’t work, but we are constantly associating the bad news of a broken HVAC unit with the HVAC technician, and I don’t think that this can be healthy. Certainly, the HVAC technician doesn’t deserve to be disliked for giving you the honest truth. We should be a little kinder to HVAC technicians.
