Our basement was flooded after the heavy storm

We love the area we live in because it has the best amenities.

Plus, all the neighbors have a way of coming together when another is in need.

My wife and I grew up in a city where everyone was for themselves. We hardly had any community interactions, and people sort of lived isolated lives. When we met, we yearned for community life and deliberately attempted to find such a place. Though the area we moved to is a bit rural, it’s the best for our small family. Our only issue is we are in a valley where once in a while, it floods. Last year we faced the worst flood ever that submerged the HVAC system in the basement. We’ve encountered little flooding, but it was too much this time that the HVAC system was underwater for days. The rains started when we drove home from work and didn’t stop for 3 days. Our top floors were okay, but everywhere else was flooded. Since the HVAC system was under water, there was no salvaging it. When the waters finally receded, we got a machine to suck water from the basement. After that, we analyzed the damage. An HVAC expert came over and agreed we had to replace the HVAC system. It was time to go back to the drawing board and think of new ways to protect the new HVAC system from floods. Thankfully, the HVAC company in the area didn’t raise the prices and was even offering free installation to those who lost their systems because of the floods.
