Not even the Dalai Lama could handle this heat.

Two years ago, my life partner and I sold our home and bought a travel trailer with HVAC and an air purifier.

We had always dreamed of traveling across the United States and seeing every state in the union.

We started out early spring and ended up on the Southern West Coast in the middle of summer. I could not believe how hot it was. I told my husband that not even the Dalai Lama could handle the heat.I am a creature of comfort, and when it’s hot, I want my creature comforts. We knew the heating in the air conditioning worked because we had to use it over the last eight weeks. We lived in the Northeast, and had never experienced this kind of heat. When we headed out on our trip, people were asking us where we were going. When we told them we wanted to head to the West Coast, they said how hot it was going to be, but it was a different ‌heat. We soon discovered that there was a lot of baloney. Heat is heat, no matter where you go. I was so grateful to have the air conditioning that we had, because I didn’t want to get out of that travel trailer. The only time when I got outside was when I had to go for groceries. I wasn’t the first one to say it was time to go, either. My husband woke up one morning wringing wet with sweat and told me it was time to head back home. He wanted to go back to where they were already experiencing fall-like temperatures. That would have been amazing if we hadn’t sold our home.
