Nobody wants a house without HVAC.

I asked again about the thermostat and the air conditioning.

I couldn’t believe it when my husband told me he had bought a house for us. How many couples buy a house without each member of that couple having seen it? I questioned him, wanting to know why he would do such a thing without talking to me? He said the house was a bargain and if he hadn’t bought it immediately; the owner was going to sell it to someone else. Apparently, the house was a bargain because it needed some work. He said the owner still lived in the house, but it was too big for him. If the owner was still living there, it had to be in decent shape. Hadn’t it? He had already paid for the house, and we were heading north to our new home the next morning. I thought the house was adorable when we laid eyes on it. It was a perfect Gingerbread house, and just what I had always dreamed of. My husband asked if I was disappointed and I said I wanted to hold out on my opinion until we were inside. Once inside, I looked around and asked where the air conditioning unit was. I wanted to turn it on because it was so stuffy inside. I asked again about the thermostat and the air conditioning. He shrugged and said, ‘about that…’. I cringed. Nobody wants a house without HVAC, except my husband. The first thing we had to do was install heating and air conditioning, because I wasn’t living in a house that didn’t have air conditioning when it was 90 degrees outside.
