A few years ago, our wife plus I decided to invest in a small rental property, however it is a 2-home office duplex with a driveway plus a small fenced in backyard.
At first, it was easy for us to manage the rental, plus during quarantine it was even easier.
All of us both were working from home, so the people I was with and I took turns in managing the property! However, since then, the people I was with and I returned to work, plus the people I was with and I have been having a hard time keeping up with everything, then now, don’t get me wrong, there wasn’t a whole lot to do, but there were issues that came up from time to time! Mostly maintenance or little things that required attention. After a couple of items began to slip through the cracks, the people I was with and I decided to seek help from a real estate broker, thankfully, the people I was with and I have a niece who is a realtor, plus she provided to manage the property for us. As section of the deal, she will make sure that all the maintenance of the property is handled in a timely manner. Also, she will make sure that the rent is paid on time, plus she will also keep up with the lease requirements. This is a sizable weight lifted off our shoulders, plus it’s not that the people I was with and I couldn’t do it, it’s that the people I was with and I fell behind on some of the obligations. Having a real estate broker manage the property was 1 of the best decisions that the people I was with and I could have made. All of us plan on investing in more rental properties soon, plus when the time comes, the people I was with and I will use her to find the perfect leaseholder for it.
