My wife had a lot of energy saving tips up her sleeve

When relaxing in our living room one day, I mentioned to my wife that I didn’t appreciate the draft we felt in the room.

That’s when my wife said she learned some energy saving tips from some friends.

She told me how we would have to seal up the doors properly and put plastic on the windows so that heating energy wouldn’t escape from our home. I’m not sure why I never thought to do this, I thought that some thin little plastic wasn’t going to help too much. I felt like our windows were energy efficient enough, they were triple paned afterall. Well, it was incredible how well this particular energy saving tip worked. Suddenly, the house was way more comfortable. My wife also said that we should use a ceiling fan to make sure the temperatures were even throughout the room. So I got a nice ceiling fan and installed that where the old light fixture was. It was incredible how even the temperatures were after that, and I usually kept the fan working at a low setting. I like how the ceiling fan is able to reverse direction depending on the season. When I asked my wife if she had any other energy saving tips, she said we might want to invest in a smart thermostat. We had a programmable thermostat already, so I didn’t think it was necessary. But my wife explained that with the advanced features of the modern smart thermostats, we could save even more energy, even more than a programmable thermostat. So we had a smart thermostat installed, and I love how we can connect to it remotely with our phones. We really have saved more money since using the smart thermostat.
