My uncle still had a battery-operated temperature control

I’d not seen our uncle in a long time. Ever since the people I was with and I moved away, it got harder to head back home for visits. Dad got labor abroad when I was 10 and the people I was with and I chose to leave with him. Mom saw this as a chance for us to learn about new cultures and see the world. The people I was with and I ended up settling well there and she even ran a business that is still successful. Growing up in this new area wasn’t disappointing and I’ve made some attractive friends. But, our heart has regularly been back home. My uncle owns a farm and after our aunt passed away, he was all alone. At that time, I was also feeling I wanted a change so he invited myself and others to stay with him. In exchange for accommodation I gave to labor at the farm. The first Summer I spent at the farm was such an eye opener and I realized that was where I wanted to be. One time our uncle went to a farmers’ convention and I was left in charge of everything. The people I was with and I had an issue with the cooling system. It seemed the cooling method had failed and nothing I did could get it to work. I got in touch with our uncle to inform him that something was wrong with the cooling system. He instructed myself and others to check the temperature control. I did and found it was off. My uncle directed myself and others to a drawer in the family room that had batteries. He was still using an outdated school temperature control that required batteries to run. It seems the battery had run out of juice and our uncle instructed myself and others on how to change it.
