Also, she will make sure that the rent is paid on time, and she will also keep up with the lease requirements
A few years ago, my husband and I decided to invest in a small rental property. It is a 2-bedroom duplex with a driveway and a small fenced in backyard. At first, it was easy for us to manage the rental, and during quarantine it was even easier. We both were working from home, so we took turns in managing the property. However, since then, we returned to work, and we have been having a hard time keeping up with everything. Now, don’t get me wrong, there wasn’t a whole lot to do, but there were issues that came up from time to time. Mostly maintenance or little things that required attention. After a couple of items began to slip through the cracks, we decided to seek help from a real estate broker. Thankfully, we have a niece who is a realtor, and she offered to manage the property for us. As part of the deal, she will make sure that all the maintenance of the property is handled in a timely manner. Also, she will make sure that the rent is paid on time, and she will also keep up with the lease requirements. This is a huge weight lifted off our shoulders, and it’s not that we couldn’t do it, it’s that we fell behind on some of the obligations. Having a real estate broker manage the property was one of the best decisions that we could have made. We plan on investing in more rental properties soon, and when the time comes, we will use her to find the perfect tenant for it.
