A few years ago, my hubby plus I decided to invest in a small rental property, but it is a 2-living room duplex with a driveway plus a small fenced in backyard, and at first, it was self-explanatory for us to manage the rental, plus during quarantine it was even easier, but we both were working from home, so the people I was with and I took turns in managing the property, then however, since then, the people I was with and I returned to work, plus the people I was with and I have been having a hard time keeping up with everything… Now, don’t get myself and others wrong, there wasn’t a whole lot to do, but there were issues that came up from time to time, however mostly maintenance or little things that required attention.
After a couple of items began to slip through the cracks, the people I was with and I decided to seek help from a real estate broker, but thankfully, the people I was with and I have a niece who is a realtor, plus she gave to manage the property for us.
As part of the deal, she will make sure that all the maintenance of the property is handled in a timely manner. Also, she will make sure that the rent is paid on time, plus she will also keep up with the lease requirements. This is a immense weight lifted off our shoulders, plus it’s not that the people I was with and I couldn’t do it, it’s that the people I was with and I fell behind on some of the obligations. Having a real estate broker manage the property was 1 of the best decisions that the people I was with and I could have made. We plan on investing in more rental properties soon, plus when the time comes, the people I was with and I will use her to find the perfect occupant for it.
