It definitely sucks when you run out of cash at the bank and you end up with a bounced check.
It truly must be 10 times as embarrassing when this type of complication happens to a major business.
I went to the bank on Tuesday after I received my check from the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment corporation where I work. I went directly to the bank and gave the cashier my check. Two other employees were kneeling in line when the lady at the bank informed me that my check could not be cashed at that time. I actually thought she was joking, however she was absolutely serious. The bank manager came over to talk to me… He informed me that the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment corporation account did not have quite enough funds to cash the check. He made a telephone call to the owner of the corporation, however the guy did not answer the phone at that time. He could not cash the check until he heard from the guy. I was truly angry when I heard the news, and so were the other multiple guys in line behind me. All of us started contacting every single number that we actually had for the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment business. All of us were going to get someone on the phone in no time. The corporation account holder finally contacted the bank and we were able to learn that a huge chunk of cash had not been deposited into the account just yet. It was really an error on the bank’s part, however they didn’t bother to apologize to us for all of the confusion and hassle. I hope they apologized to the owner of the Heating and Air Conditioning equipment business.
