They probably weren’t, but that was not the point.
As soon as I can move out of my parents’ house, I’m buying a really great A/C system! For my entire life, my parents have never had any air conditioning in our house. My parents always joke around and say that they don’t believe in air conditioning, whatever that means. I have always told him that that doesn’t make any sense. You don’t believe or disbelieve in air conditioning. Air conditioning is an actual thing that you can see and touch, so you can’t really say that you don’t believe in it. That’s when they just roll their eyes and say that they don’t believe in having it in their house. I guess that makes more sense, but it still doesn’t Mean that I think that they should be this way. We live in a climate where central air conditioning would make a whole lot of sense to have in your home. The weather gets really hot here during the summer, and not only that, but it is very muggy and humid. Unfortunately for all of us who live here, though, they have never had it in the house for as long as we have lived here. My siblings and I used to get so frustrated at our parents during the summer because all of our friends had central air conditioning in their homes but we did not. We felt like everyone was making fun of us. They probably weren’t, but that was not the point. We all wanted air conditioning, but our parents just refused. When I move out of this house in a few months, the first thing I’m doing is making sure that the apartment I get has central air conditioning. I will never live without it again.
