I have regularly wanted heated flooring in our house.
- The only cons to this heating plan is that it adds height & weight to the floor.
Additionally you need to rip up your seasoned floors in order to do the heating installation. I have regularly had it in the back of our mind that I am going to rip up the seasoned carpets & put down tile. I have just been waiting for the opportune moment. Well recently our partner & I went on a trip together. I rented a little house out in the middle of nowhere. They had a fireplace & heated flooring. I was so happy to try heated flooring for the first time in our life. I turned on the temperature control & was expecting to assume instant warmth. I felt nothing. They say the plan is silent & I realized how unnerving that is. I couldn’t tell if it was on or off. I waited around all morning to assume the heating plan & felt nothing, then during our trip the people I was with and I would be in & out of the cabin. The two of us kept the heated flooring running consistently. There were a few spots in the house where I could assume sizzling patches. My partner is convinced that heated flooring is just really weak. I assume that the house owner put down carpets which make it harder to assume radiant floors. I also assume the plan might have been really old. I am not totally against adding radiant heating in our house yet. I will admit I will want to test out more radiant heated homes before buying it for mine. I am not impressed so far.
