I thought the radiant floors would be more powerful

I have consistently wanted heated flooring in our house.

The only cons to this heating system is that it adds height & weight to the floor.

Additionally you need to rip up your old floors in order to do the heating replacement. I have consistently had it in the back of our mind that I am going to rip up the old rugs & put down tile. I have just been waiting for the opportune moment. Well recently our hubby & I went on a trip together. I rented a little house out in the middle of nowhere. They had a fireplace & heated flooring. I was so excited to try heated flooring for the first time in our life. I turned on the thermostat & was expecting to recognize instant warmth. I felt nothing. They say the system is silent & I realized how unnerving that is. I couldn’t tell if it was on or off. I waited around all morning to recognize the heating system & felt nothing, however during our trip the two of us would be in & out of the cabin. We kept the heated flooring running consistently. There were a few spots in the house where I could recognize sizzling patches. My hubby is convinced that heated flooring is just genuinely weak. I recognize that the house owner put down rugs which make it harder to recognize radiant floors. I also think the system might have been genuinely old. I am not totally against adding radiant heating in our condo yet. I will admit I will want to test out more radiant heated homes before buying it for mine. I am not impressed so far.
