I started our career doing crime scene clean up.
This was about as much fun as you would think.
There was blood spatter to clean up, rugs to replace, & constantly such an unholy smell to try & get rid of! You would suppose that for such disgusting work there was actually unbelievable bpay, however you would be wrong about that. After a few weeks I was so repulsed by the task that I started taking night classes to learn Heating & A/C repair. I needed a new task, something with a real future to it, & I was convinced that the heating & cooling industry was our ticket. That was a weird phase in our life, because I was still cleaning up crime scenes during the afternoon, & then studying heating & cooling systems at night. That oddball combination gave myself and others an idea, 1 that I pitched to the owner of the cleaning supplier – ductwork & air vent cleaning. I knew that the person owned other types of businesses, & I explained to him that no 1 else on his crew knew how to correctly clean & wash HVAC ducts. That does take a little specialized training, the legitimately kind I was receiving in our Heating & A/C studies. When I was finally Heating & A/C certified I was able to quit the crime scene clean up crew, & transfer to an industrial cleaning crew, but no more blood & guts for me, now all I have to clean are dusty HVAC ducts & grimey air vents, which are markedly less disgusting. Thanks for studying our blog!
