My boss sent me downtown to help a client with an oil furnace complication… As soon as I showed up, the man started yelling at me for being late.
I politely told the man that we don’t have scheduled appointments at a particular time due to the fact that each job may take longer than we anticipated.
He didn’t seem entirely thrilled about that answer, but he did not say anything else about me being late. I asked the man to explain the setback he was having with the oil furnace. He suddenly became hostile as well as annoyed for no reason at all. He actually started pacing behind me with a pair of scissors in his hand. I was fairly uncomfortable as well as somewhat freaked out. The man was rubbing me the wrong way, so I found an excuse to go out to my truck. I reached out to my boss as well as I told him about the crazy behavior the man was showing. He asked me if I was scared, as well as I told him that I was definitely not. There genuinely was no way I was going back into that beach dwelling when the man was behaving in a bizarre manner. I asked my boss to send someone else to help with the oil furnace service or someone else completely. I wasn’t going to get myself into a situation where things were not going well as well as I had to use force on a seasoned guy to protect myself. Fortunately, my boss did send someone to help. The guy acted just as strangely with both of us there, but at least we had strength in numbers.
