I have two options as to what I can do with the rest of my life. I could start up my own local business, doing heating and cooling repairs and service, or I could play drums and sing with my bandmate and try to earn a living that way. I feel that the latter would bring me more joy, but I am not sure I would be able to survive just doing that and nothing else. My bandmate likes to play in front of local businesses and ask people for money, but I feel weird doing that as I don’t like to beg for money. Maybe it is possible to run the HVAC company during the day and play music at night. This is funny because I am 55 years old and you would think I should know what I am doing with my life at this point. A lot of my friends are local contractors and own local businesses, and have saved up nice nest eggs and are getting ready to retire. Honestly, I have about $5000 to my name and am just scraping by doing some part time gigs here and there. I quit working in the HVAC industry as an HVAC tech about 23 years ago and chased a comedy dream for 17 years. It basically took all of my money and time and now I am left with no money in the bank and no real means of making money. I need to figure out if running a heating corp would be a better option than playing music in the streets.
