There is a large difference between not spending cash on something because you really cannot afford it and not spending cash on something because you do not want to.
I respect people who are frugal because that is the way they chose to live their life.
However, I recently had an experience where being frugal affected my own personal comfort. I started dating a guy a few weeks ago, but everything went really well in the start and we seemed to hit it off. I noticed that he was frugal, but I did not realize the extent of his frugality until I stayed at his home. He invited me to stay over for the weekend for the first time. Naturally, I was excited to spend more time with my new guy. It happened to be a really sizzling weekend, I figured we could go to the beach or go to a friend’s pool if it was too bad. The worst case scenario is that we could watch films inside in the comfort of the air conditioning system, then when I first stepped into his house, I noticed that it felt really sizzling and stale. I did not feel the cool comfort of the air conditioning system that I was hoping to feel. I let it go because I did not want to be rude. We ended up going to the beach so I figured he would turn the air conditioning system on before we left so it would be nice and cool when we got back. I was really wrong. When we got back the air conditioning system was still not on! I decided to ask our guy about it. He doesn’t use the air conditioning system because he wants to save cash. I decided to leave.
