I am a handy guy even though I have started hiring out more & more. I don’t want to mess around with jobs that I can hire for. I would much rather toil more to pay someone else to do it. Renovations are stressful too. If someone else can take away that burden, how great. I decided that for our bathroom remodel I was going to hire what I could. I got a business to kneel the floor & shower brick for me. He also installed a modern window. I then had an electrician put in outlets for me, a vanity light & overhead light. The plumber installed our toilet, sink & shower controls. Then I decided that I wanted to add bathroom ventilation. I dislike how tepid it gets in there. The heat rises & creates condensation. I battle mold & streaks. I didn’t even pause to consider when I called the Heating & A/C business. It stands for heating, ventilation & air conditioner. So of course they do bathroom ventilation replacement. When the Heating & A/C business came over he thought he was doing something to our ductwork. After clarifying & showing him our bathroom vent he laughed at me. Electricians mess with those things. It is too small of a job for a Heating & A/C business. Luckily I was able to swing a deal with him to get the install done. I mean he had the tools & had seen a bathroom vent before. Now I recognize for next time he is not the guy to call. I am just relieved that I got everything set up right.
