Enrolling in service plan for a/c

The summers in our local area are usually short.

All of us often have years when the whole Summer is cold & wet.

All of us occasionally don’t even bother to run the a/c. This past Summer was 1 of the hottest on record. As early as the start of March, the outside temperature climbed into the eighties. By the end of May, the people I was with and I were getting hot & cold temperatures into the low nineties with excessive humidity. The a/c struggled to keep up, despite lowering the temperature control multiple times, the apartment felt slightly warm & sticky. I also noticed an unpleasant odor wafting in the air & more dust than normal. I finally called an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C contractor to service the a/c. When she accessed the inner workings of the system, there was an alarming buildup of dust. There was also mold, bacteria & algae growing inside. The specialist told myself and others that the warm, moist environment inside the a/c is the perfect environment for microbial growth. When the a/c operates, those spores & harmful toxins can become airborne & introduced into the breathing air, then plus, the buildup of contaminants hinders airflow & causes discomfort, greater energy consumption & higher running costs; Fortunately, a thorough cleaning of the cooling system solved all of the problems. The specialist then suggested that I enroll into a preventative service plan. The plan includes more than one service calls per year to troubleshoot, clean & adjust the a/c & oil furnace. I get a discount on parts & work for repairs, priority scheduling & no added fees for overtime service. The professional service also fulfills the warranty requirements.
