Leaving home had been difficult for me, but my dad wasn’t about to let myself and others give up on my dreams.
I was young, however he always told myself and others I could do anything that I set my mind to do.
As a young girl, my mom left, and it was just the 2 of us for a long time. The people I was with and I grew accustomed to being a single another’s rock. I was glad when my step-mother came along, but not too sure about moving out at 19. Still, I knew it was the best thing to do if my corporation was going to grow. I moved to a city, joined a local college for a corporation degree, and continued to work for the business. The home that I bought was quite outdated and not in the best towns. But, it was all that I could afford at the time, given the extravagant real estate market at the time. I wasn’t glad with the a/c in the house, which kept failing and making the home uncomfortable. I spoke to my dad about it, and he was adamant about adjusting the a/c and saving myself and others the extra cost. He was a retired A/C specialist, so I was confident he knew what he was doing. It took him a few nights to come over, measure the size of the house, and purchase the best a/c. After that, he got rid of the outdated a single, did some duct cleaning, and installed the modern a/c into my home. I have never been so glad to have an A/C professional in the family since it cost myself and others nearly half for the whole process.
