Awesome rental car, except for heat

Last week I had quite an annoying string of events thrown my way, as usual. We were just wrapping up “no stress November” as the universe threw us a few curveballs to kickstart December, including my car breaking down without warning. I was on a little road trip to visit my best friend when the Check Engine light came on and the car stopped responding to the accelerator pedal. Of course, I was not pleased to have this travel complication. My annoyance only increased when I attempted to drive to work and found that the car was completely dysfunctional a few days later. At that point, I finally pulled out my computer and started looking for rental cars. I rented an economy model, but wound up getting a sweet upgrade to something fancy at the facility. The car was a lot of fun to drive, actually… except for one problem. The car did not come equipped with working heat inside. As I drove home I desperately punched at the thermostat controls, thinking that I was just pushing the wrong control buttons. I sat in the driveway and fiddled with all of the temperature increase dials, the air flow speed, and the direction of air venting… however, nothing improved the indoor air temperature. I tried to swap it out with another car, but the dealership was steadfast that their thermostat must have worked. For the next week I lived without any sort of heat during my commute to and from work, and of course the air temperature dipped lower and lower each day. By the time my car was finally fixed and ready to be picked up from the shop, I was so sick of the dysfunctional thermostat in the rental vehicle. I swore I never wanted to drive another vehicle again.
