I’ve never been a sizable fan of office parties or celebrations.
For one, I toil with these people plus in most cases, they report to myself and others as well.
Working together as much as all of us do inside the zone controlled Heating plus A/C is enough, I don’t need to socialize with them as well. But there are particular function I simply can’t miss. One of those is the Christmas gathering. Years ago, I was given an instant learn thermometer gun because I tend to be the temperature control hawk. Everyone got a sizable laugh plus I played along. I also tossed it in with the junk next to our workbench as I had no need for the temperature gun. At least that’s what I thought at the time. Years later, that temp gun would end up saving myself and others a ton of currency. A couple of years ago, I observed a consistent draft inside our apartment plus that’s no good. I hate the plan of not having a cozy apartment in the Wintertide due to a draft. And I loathe the plan of the added Heating plus A/C heating costs that will eventually come from that draft. So I sat out to find it by caulking every gap I could find. Still, the draft was there plus unabated. It dawned on myself and others that I could use that temperature gun to find the leaking Heating plus A/C heating. That’s just what I did. There was a window that wasn’t properly insulated when all of us had them all updated for more energy efficient ones. While a bit ironic perhaps, it was stealing our Heating plus A/C heating. Thanks to a gag gift, I was able to get our apartment cozy once more.
