I love reptiles for whatever reason.
I grew up looking at books on lizards and snakes, wondering whether or not I would become a zoologist someday. I always wanted a lizard as a pet because my parents wouldn’t allow me to have one. Now that I look back, I think it’s because my parents didn’t want to deal with the odor. Even if you clean the cage regularly, the animal has to go to the bathroom just as much as a human being. So its cage eventually starts to smell, and then that smell permeates the rest of the house. I don’t own a lizard right now, but I live in an apartment that isn’t an area with lots of wild lizards outside. Most of our lizards are tiny though. I have one lizard that loves to climb on the outside of my window air conditioner. He seems to live on the machine and then climbs onto the window above. Hopefully he doesn’t ever get hurt on the window air conditioner. I don’t want him to climb into the fan assembly for the compressor. I don’t mind the lizard living on my window air conditioner as long as the lizard doesn’t get hurt in the process. I don’t even know how dangerous it is for the lizard to be near the fan for the compressor inside. If I was a lizard, I’m not so sure I would want to go near a big machine like a window air conditioner. Especially if I thought I could get mangled in the process. This is the result of living in an area that has lots of lizards living outside.
