I’ve always appreciated the critters and from a young age I truly had a thing for doves.
So I was truly glad when I turned 18 and got my own arena where I was able to get doves.
My parents unfortunately never let me have doves because they were too messy and too noisy. I don’t have any large doves or anything like that, just a couple of adorable little budgies, which for those of you that don’t know budgies is just another name for a birdie. Anyways, if there is one thing that you should know about doves is that they can be pretty sensitive to the temperature in your home. Then one day I noticed that my budgies were suffering when I turned on the A/C. Now I did turn on the A/C to be much colder than I normally have it. I turned the temperature in the house down to 73 degrees. This was also just to counteract the blazing moderate Summer weather outside. It was around 90 degrees outside and there was no way I was going outside in that weather, even without the A/C in the inside of the house it was still moderate and so that is when the A/C came in. It did another excellent job of cooling my home so I never had to worry about my A/C system not working like I needed it to. But it was making my doves too chilly so I put a blanket over their cage to help keep them moderate and after that I turned up the heater a little bit. I changed the temperature from 73 to 69. The slight temperature change plus the cover over the cage seemed to make a difference and the doves warmed up.
