The house was not big or grand, but it was cozy and had a spectacular view of the creek from the porch.

The only change would be that the HVAC repairman would conduct a bi-annual rather than an annual heat pump service. We spent more time on the porch than we did inside the house. The view and the serenity it provided were something one could only find in nature. We also upgraded the thermostat to a more efficient and modern one. During nights when I could not sleep, I would go and sit there. Staring at the night sky is far better than a bare ceiling.
