Nick had to purchase a modern boiler

My intuition tells me that the length of time between repairs necessitating replacement must be very nearly a world record

The neighbor, Nick, boasted that her house had the world’s oldest boiler. I’ve got a sneaking suspicion that the boiler was put in the house when it was first built. I am aware that Nick’s home is one of the neighborhood’s older houses. I can think of 1960 as the most likely year that the house was built. I have absolutely no idea how that boiler has been able to continue operating for so long. It is older than a significant portion of the people I know! Heating and air conditioning systems must have been built to last in those days; for some reason, I think they were just built differently. Boilers typically last twice as long as their air-conditioning-using counterparts on days like today. Nick has probably gone through a lot of air conditioners over the years, but as far as I know, she has never bought a modern boiler. It is without a doubt the craziest thing that could possibly occur. My intuition tells me that the length of time between repairs necessitating replacement must be very nearly a world record. Funny thing is, Nick doesn’t experience any boiler issues either. She does regular maintenance on it throughout the year, but she has never experienced a situation where the boiler suddenly failed on the man. I need a new boiler for my house, and let me just say that I sincerely wish they still produced that specific model of the boiler! I would buy one right away if I could find one that was an exact replica of Nick’s just to put the whole thing behind me and never think about it again.
