Whenever I was a little kid, my grandpa used to teach me how to fix things around the house.
He used to live with us when I was growing up and it was one of the best times of my life.
He used to fix everything around the house whenever it would tear up and he tried his best to pass all of his knowledge along to me, too. I learned so much from my grandpa back when I was growing up. I truly believe that given the chance, that man could have fixed anything at all. He was already pretty old whenever I was born, and so I was fairly young when he died. However, I had already learned to do basic plumbing and electrical work from him. He had also shown me a whole lot about the HVAC system in our house, so I knew how to fix certain things on our furnace and our central air conditioning system too. I have been changing air filters since I was about three years old! I loved my grandpa and he was so good at everything that he did. I have always wanted to be just like him and the older I get, the more I remind myself of him. I am learning a whole lot about different home improvement projects and I think that he laid the foundation for me a long time ago when he first taught me how to fix things like lightbulbs, a leaky faucet, and a dirty air filter. Now that I’m an adult with a home of my own, I know that it was a true gift of knowledge that he gave to me.
