I was barefooted, and it was still too hot in the house.
I tried to turn the furnace off, but it wasn’t working. I was wondering if there was a problem with the thermostat, but I wanted to check with the HVAC company before doing anything else. After calling the HVAC company and telling them I was in shorts and a tank top in the middle of winter, they gave me an appointment. I was told the HVAC technician would be at my house by 5 PM at the latest. When the HVAC technician finally arrived, all I could do was roll my eyes. The first thing out of his mouth was to comment on how hot it was in the house. I raised an eyebrow and told him that was why I had called his HVAC company. I needed to get the heat to turn off. It was nearly eighty-five degrees in the house, and the furnace was still running. I told him I thought it could be the thermostat, but I wasn’t sure. I didn’t want to get a new thermostat and then find out it was the furnace. He checked the thermostat and told me it was fine, so it was a good thing I had called the HVAC company. I rolled my eyes this time, and he smiled and asked where the furnace was? By the time he had the furnace repaired, I was ready for him to give me the bill and leave. I had never met a more boring person, but he knew his job.
