I really should have chosen temperature controlled storage units when I moved down south a few months ago.
I don’t know what I was thinking at that point, but I wasn’t really considering the fact that you need air conditioning to get rid of humidity down here.
I had no idea that humidity caused so many problems down here in the south. Apparently, it can cause trouble with your heating and cooling system, with your books and magazines, with your furniture, and with your hair! I knew that humidity caused problems with my own hair, but I didn’t know about anything else that it would do when I first moved down here. That’s why I didn’t bother with renting a temperature controlled storage unit when I first moved all of my stuff down here. I thought that the storage building was just cheating people out of extra money because they wanted them to think that they needed a temperature controlled unit when they really didn’t. However, the joke was actually on me because I actually did end up needing a temperature controlled storage unit myself! The stuff that I had stored in the unit ended up getting very moist because of all the humidity that we deal with down here on a regular basis. Of course, at that point, I didn’t know this. Now that I have been here a while, I realize that humidity is an issue here all the time! If I ever have to use a storage unit again, I will definitely make sure to get one that is temperature controlled.
