On a Sunday afternoon I love to take short trips to local attractions.
Last Sunday I decided to head over to the zoo downtown.
The forecast for the day was cloudy with a opportunity of rain. The temperature was around eighty & the humidity was legitimately high. I thought a few hours of walking around the zoo would be enjoyable & then I would return house to my air conditioned house. I do feel it is crucial to get out for exercise & fresh air. When I arrived at the zoo I found that it was quite busy. The signs at the gate indicated that there had been a current baby gorilla born & that he was on display in the monkey house. After visiting the elephants, which were my number one, I headed over to the monkey house to see the current arrival. When I entered the building I was greeted by the “stink” & even more humidity than there was outside. It seems that they like to keep the building consistent with the weather in the rain forest. After seeing the beautiful baby gorilla I was blissful to head home. I was looking forward to a warm shower & relaxing in my weather conditions controlled apartment. I realized that day that not most people lives in an ideal environment. I can only imagine that people who live in the jungle or rainforest areas of the world must endure sweltering hot & cold temperatures on a yearly basis. I also can only imagine the Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems that the zoo must maintain to create all of the environments to keep the animals healthy.
