A trip to the zoo

I can only imagine that people who live in the jungle or rainforest areas of the world must endure sweltering temperatures on a daily basis

On a Sunday afternoon I love to take short trips to local attractions. Last Sunday I decided to head over to the zoo downtown. The forecast for the day was cloudy with a chance of rain. The temperature was around eighty and the humidity was very high. I thought a few hours of walking around the zoo would be fine and then I would return home to my air conditioned house. I do feel it is important to get out for exercise and fresh air. When I arrived at the zoo I found that it was quite busy. The signs at the gate indicated that there had been a new baby gorilla born and that he was on display in the monkey house. After visiting the elephants, which were my favorite, I headed over to the monkey house to see the new arrival. When I entered the building I was greeted by the “aroma” and even more humidity than there was outside. It seems that they like to keep the building consistent with the weather in the rain forest. After seeing the beautiful baby gorilla I was glad to head home. I was looking forward to a warm shower and relaxing in my climate controlled apartment. I realized that day that not everyone lives in an ideal environment. I can only imagine that people who live in the jungle or rainforest areas of the world must endure sweltering temperatures on a daily basis. I also can only imagine the HVAC systems that the zoo must maintain to create all of the environments to keep the animals healthy.
