I had been watching the weather for almost two weeks.
That was two weeks before my wedding.
I wanted to make sure I had a perfect day for my wedding, but it didn’t look like it was going to happen. Every forecast I looked at, made it look like I was going to have a miserable day. Our local station was showing we could get the tail end of a hurricane. Depending on how close the storm came, we could have a beautiful and cool day. The other scenario was a lot of rain, and the possibility of flooding. I had to wait until the day before the wedding before we even had a hint of what the weather was going to bring. I was glued to the television the day before my wedding. I wanted to know what was going to happen the next day. The hurricane had been downgraded, but the tropical storm was heading for us. They said the temperatures could drop 10 to 15 degrees, but it was going to be raining. I woke up to a blinding rain, high winds, and a broken air conditioner. My fiance was wondering what we were going to do with his grandparents, and I was worried about all the guests. An hour later, people were calling and canceling their coming to the wedding. I was going to postpone the wedding. Without air conditioning, and no caterer, we were stuck. I called the HVAC company and asked if I could get my air conditioning unit repaired. The HVAC tech asked if we had a rowboat at the same time my fiance’s grandparents came through the door. They were soaked and asking if we had the heat on. They were our only guests.
