Thought to be broken thermostat but it wasn’t

My morning routine can get a little old at times.

Especially because I am not a morning person whatsoever.

I will wake up and set my alarm the night before about 10 minutes before I’m supposed to wake up. This is so I can lay in my bed for an extra 10 minutes, try to wake up and check my phone to see if I have any messages. Then I will brush my teeth, get in the shower and get changed for my work day. After I get changed I’ll pack my lunch, grab my breakfast and eat on the go. Then I have to make my 30 minute commute to work. Sometimes the drive can get a little annoying because it’s so long and I listen to the same songs over and over. But every week I get through it. The other day when I went into work I couldn’t believe how cold the office was. It felt like the air conditioning system was put on full blast. I went over to it and saw that it was set to 74. It wasn’t a bad temperature but I wasn’t sure why it was so cold. I set the thermostat up to 77 degrees. After about 20 minutes I thought that the changes that I made to the thermostat was going to take effective immediately, but it didn’t. The owner had programmed the thermostat so any changes made would be overridden by his temperature that was programmed. At first I thought the thermostat was broken and I would have to call an HVAC technician.
