Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system affecting lighting

My neighbor reminds me of those film characters that go overboard on Christmas lights… You know the type, they are usually in competition with others around them to prove they can have the most impressive light display around.

He spends months before planning and stringing lights in preparation for the large lighting event.

This year, I noticed that each time he took care of the light display, his power in the condo seemed to go out. I figured that he had finally added too several lights and it was overloading the system, then when I went to talk to him and see if he needed help he said that he had been having electrical concerns for various months. I suggested that he have a professional come in to test his system before he had an electrical fire. The following week I saw various trucks in his driveway, including an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C dealer van. I went over to check t out and my neighbor told me that when everything was checked, it was found that his Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system had a short in it. The lights being plugged in were unbelievable by themselves, but, when the system turned on while they were lit, it was tripping the main breaker. The worker said that it was a nice thing he had called and that once it was repaired, his annual Christmas display of lights should work just fine. This was a reminder to me that I needed to make an appointment for my annual Heating, Ventilation, and A/C checkup at my own home. It is scary to suppose what may have happened if the short had caused a fire at my neighbors home, but i wanted the peace of mind that my system was working unbelievable for the season.
