It’s crazy to think that I’ve been an aunt for about two years now.
My older sister had a little girl and she is the cutest thing.
My sister works on the weekends to make a little extra money, so I will watch her child for her on Sundays. Sundays are a lot of fun because I will try to do little activities with her. Sometimes I will bring her to the park, or go on a scavenger hunt. However this weekend we could not leave the house because there was a bad snowstorm and I did not like driving in the snow. Luckily my sister brought her toy bag to keep her occupied. She played with her toys while watching a movie. When I went to turn my back, I heard a clunking noise. My niece through her small Barbie dolls shoe down the air register! I knew that this was not going to be a good thing as her doll’s shoe was made out of plastic. Because of that day I looked into finding childproof HVAC vent coverings. I found that there was a small screen that I can place over my air registers, this would eliminate any kind of toys of going down them. To remove the doll’s shoe I had to call my HVAC technician but since it was snowing out he could not make it to my home. That entire day I was worried that it was going to catch on fire due to the heat that was coming out of my air registers.
