When I called the HVAC company last week, it was because my air conditioning unit wasn’t working well.
- It was only a year old, so I couldn’t imagine there could be a serious problem with the AC unit.
It was still under warranty. We had changed the air filter, and the HVAC technician had recently serviced the air conditioner. I was sure he would have found a problem when he did the service, if it was serious. Two days later, the HVAC technician arrived to look at the air conditioner. He shook his head when he walked in, because he had been the one who did the installation. He couldn’t believe I was already having problems. He went outside and looked at the air conditioning unit. When he came back inside, he looked perplexed. He told me I needed a new air conditioning unit. I was sure he was kidding. The air conditioning unit was only a year old. How could it possibly need to be replaced? He told me they had some recalls on this AC unit, and the recalls were what was affecting my AC unit. He had to order a new air conditioning unit, but it wasn’t going to cost me a penny. I just wanted to make sure the air conditioning unit was different, and not the same one we already had. The HVAC technician assured me it was only certain models, and I just happened to have one of them. They would give me another model AC unit that was not on the recall list, and it would work well for us.
