I had an HVAC maintenance service scheduled for Saturday but the problem was that I was not going to be around. My daughter had to travel urgently for a school program and I was the only one available to accompany her. Left with no other choice. I asked my sister Katy to help me by staying at my house. While she expected the HVAC company to come at around 2pm, the HVAC business called to inform me that they would be arriving early. I made a mental note to call my sister in advance but I got caught up with my daughter’s unfolding events that I forgot. The HVAC techs were at my doorstep by 11am and they kept ringing the doorbell but no one was picking. I know how strict my sister can be and she was not about to open the door for anyone she didn’t know. Her resolve to live life on a strict lane has always been because of her experience One time when she was younger in her college days, someone almost broke into her dorm room because she was too kind not to inquire or verify.If it was for her quick wit to close the door immediately she suspected something, there is not knowing what could have happened to her. Although she had gone for therapy, she still held on to a strong kind of fear that we all understood. The HVAC company reps tried to get to me after a few attempts. Luckily, I was able to respond after the third call and they informed me that no one was home. I had to call my sister and instruct her to let the HVAC exports in. The HVAC unit was due for a thorough maintenance and summer was around the corner so there was no way we would skip. She later opened the door for them with a big smile as though nothing happened. Thankfully, they were understanding not to question why she had kept them waiting.
