So perhaps the ductwork in our home was never cleaned.
And I’m really, really hoping that this is the case.
My pal and I recently had the Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals come out to do ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals who were in my home were exceptional. All the Heating, Ventilation & A/C servicemans were genuinely careful inside my home. I keep a neat and scrub home so I really am appreciative of folks who respect that effort by being tidy. But the men from the local Heating, Ventilation & A/C company were on a whole other level. Their boots were covered every time they came in the house. And they were so careful to get any debris that got shook loose from the ductworks and ended up on the carpet, and one of the Heating, Ventilation & A/C servicemans was on it the second it hit earth with a stick vacuum. But the sheer volume of dust and crud that came out of our ductwork was staggering. Apparently, the home was built in a time where they put some serious metals into ductwork. While the ductwork was horribly filthy. And that makes me gag to believe about. The ductwork is in tip top shape otherwise. Still, it was shocking the amount of debris that kept coming out of the ductworks. I was almost embarrassed. In fact, I asked if any of them had seen any residential Heating, Ventilation & A/C ductworks that were this bad. To my utter shock, they said that indeed, they’d seen much worse. I can’t even fathom what that has to look like. Perhaps these awesome Heating, Ventilation & A/C professionals were simply being nice to an old man. But wow, I’m still repulsed just thinking about breathing the air that was sharing the ductworks with that grime and dust.
