You would expect a furnace that was professionally installed by seasoned HVAC experts to work optimally.
This explains my shock when all of a sudden a new furnace we got for the house started blowing in cold air.
It was in the middle of winter and no amount of blankets seemed to keep us warm. I had to check the furnace only to discover that it blew in cold air instead of heating the space. I quickly called the furnace service experts that installed the heating system for us. Since it was in the middle of the night, the HVAC technician suggested holding on till the next day. Fortunately, we had a portable heater that we had randomly bought from the HVAC business in town. We used it in the bedroom. The HVAC provider was at my doorstep early the next morning. His first suspect was the thermostat. He expressed the possibility of someone accidentally resetting the thermostat without knowing. The furnace fan setting was alright as it was on auto. This meant that the fans only ran when necessary. Since the regular furnace setting seemed okay, he checked the thermostat’s batteries next. These were also pretty new and required no change. With everything about the thermostat checking out, he moved on to check the filters. He wanted to see if the filter was too clogged to hinder adequate airflow. This wasn’t the case as the furnace was newly installed. The HVAC technician then checked the high limit switch and this is where the furnace has an issue. The power had shut down in a bid to protect the compressor from overheating. The HVAC professional recommended regular furnace service maintenance to rectify such issues. He advised on professional heating services to avoid serious risks. Furnaces can be complex and should not be fixed by DIY attempts.
