I was among the first new homeowners on my block.
The years of sacrifice and saving had finally paid off as I was handed my new home keys. There was a lot I needed to check and sort before my family and I could move in. Top on the list was the HVAC system. I had worked with an HVAC technician from the start to find the right cooling and heating unit. What was left was for us to test the HVAC system and confirm that it was working. I had a sensitive child at home and the air quality in my space was always a priority. Fortunately for me, the HVAC business I chose to work with was the best in our locality. They had the latest AC and furnace technology. The HVAC provider I was paired with was also passionate about finding air conditioning and heating solutions for their customers. After appropriate AC and heater installation, it was finally time to test the HVAC unit’s efficiency. We picked a hot afternoon to test the AC. First I switched the air conditioner and left it on for about 15 minutes. It was important to test it in the right environment.I then placed a thermistor on the supply register to gauge the AC’s peak performance. I then repeated the thermometer reading at the vent. Fortunately for me, the AC passed the test as it cooled the space as expected. The HVAC professional also reminded me of ways I could make the AC work better. HVAC maintenance was crucial and he needed me to ensure that windows and doors are closed most times to avoid overworking the air conditioner. He also insisted on ensuring the vents are always clean to avoid blockage. Finally, he took me through the AC air filter changing process just to be sure I got it right.
