Each and every week, an emergency repair technician has to be available at the HVAC center.
The emergency repair technician can go home at the end of the day, but each person has to keep their phone on and the calls from the answering service are forwarded to our phone.
We have to be available to answer calls and questions about HVAC related problems. If a customer requests 24-hour emergency services, the technician has to be available to help. That means you can’t drink or do recreational drugs when you are supposed to be available for customer requests. I hate working on the weekends when I can’t drink with my friends. I had to work this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The phone was silent on Tuesday and Wednesday, but Thursday at 8:00 p.m. I got my first of three emergency repair calls. I was in the middle of eating pizza when I got the first emergency repair call. A residential customer called because she heard a strange sound coming from the AC unit and there was warm air coming out of the vents. I left in the middle of my pizza party. When I got back to the house after finishing with the AC repair, my pizza was cold and soggy. Thank goodness I bought an air fryer a couple of weeks ago. If you’ve never tried an air fryer, it’s easily the best appliance I have in my kitchen. I put my pizza back into the air fryer and 5 minutes later it was hot and crispy like it had just been delivered.
