Last year, just before the spring, our air conditioning system tore up.
I was so mad when it messed up right before the weather started heating up.
That’s just the kind of luck that I have with things around my house though! For me, it seems like something is always going wrong around here at our house. I don’t know what the deal is, but we are always having issues with our roof, our appliances, or our heating and cooling system. At that point, I was not really sure what to do. I knew that furnaces tend to last about twice as long as the air conditioning systems do. For that reason alone, I thought about changing our furnace at the same time as our air conditioner. I knew that it was going to cost me more money upfront, but it would probably end up saving me money in the end because of energy savings. I was just frustrated because of all of the different repairs that I had been having to do around the house. I have a home maintenance and repair fund set up at the bank, but it seemed to be dwindling away rapidly last year! We had some roof repairs to make, new gutters to buy, and a new entry door to have installed! In other words, I did not want to spend a small fortune on a completely new heating and cooling system. In the end, I ended up doing it anyway just because I wanted to save myself time and money in the future.
